At the High Court in Aberdeen today, 23 October 2018, Lord Uist sentenced Anthony Higgins to seven years’ imprisonment after the accused was found guilty of assaulting Darren Carr to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court today, Friday 19 October, Sheriff Gordon Liddle sentenced Piotr Swiatek to 30 months imprisonment and a 12 month supervision order after he was found guilty of attempting to set fire to the Scottish Parliament, possession of weapons and causing fear and alarm. At the High Court in Edinburgh today, 19 October, 2018, Lord Pentland imposed an extended sentence on Robert Hawkins for serious sexual offences against women and children. The custodial part will be 14 years, followed by an extension period of 5 years on licence.
