HMA v CHRISTOPHER ANDREW SOMERVILLE

Sentencing Statements

Today at the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Pentland imposed an extended sentence of twelve years on Christopher Somerville after he pled guilty to the culpable homicide of William Young at Mount Stewart Street, Carluke on 11 April 2010. The sentence is composed of a custodial term of 8 years followed by an extension period on licence of 4 years.

HMA v MICHAEL JOHN MCINNES

Sentencing Statements

Today at the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Pentland imposed an extended sentence of nine years on Michael McInnes after he pled guilty to the attempted murder of Kevin McNee at Jackson Court, Coatbridge on 13 May 2009. The sentence is composed of a custodial term of 6 years followed by an extension period on licence of 3 years.

On 12 January 2011 at the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Pentland imposed a three year probation order on Ryan Mabon after he pled guilty to several offences of indecency and inappropriate sexual behaviour.

HMA v THOMAS KEVIN IRVINE

Sentencing Statements

On 11 January 2011 at the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Pentland sentenced Thomas Irvine to nine years imprisonment after he pled guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. Thomas Rarity and Anthony Gordon died following an accident on the A737 road on 31 January 2009.

Today at the High Court in Glasgow Judge Rae QC sentenced Scott Clark to four years imprisonment after he was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving. Edna Watson died following an accident on the B751 Gatehead Road, Ayrshire on the 22 June 2009.
