In cases where there is public interest or where the sentence may be complicated or controversial, the judge may decide to make the sentencing statement more widely available. You can read the judge’s full statement here once sentence has been passed.

At the High Court in Glasgow Lord Matthews imposed an order for lifelong restriction on Martin Taylor after he pled guilty to assault. The punishment part of the sentence will be three years and four months.

HMA v CRAIG MORGAN

Sentencing Statements

At the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Woolman imposed an extended sentence on Craig Morgan after he pled guilty to assault on 11 April 2010 in Glasgow. The custodial part of the sentence will be six years followed by a extended period on licence of three years.

Today at Peterhead Sheriff Court Sheriff Marysia Lewis sentenced Jennifer Stephen to 28 months in prison after she pled guilty to fraud while working within the Children and Families Team in Fraserburgh.

Today at the High Court in Edinburgh Lady Dorrian imposed an order for lifelong restriction on John Daly after he pled guilty to rape in Glasgow in April 2010. The punishment part of the sentence was fixed at 7 years.

At the High Court in Edinburgh Lord Woolman sentenced Kevin Coulter to 3 years and four months in prison after he pled guilty to supplying diamorphine, a Class A drug, at HM Prison Addiewell, West Lothian between 21 July 2010 and 26 July 2010.
