In cases where there is public interest or where the sentence may be complicated or controversial, the judge may decide to make the sentencing statement more widely available. You can read the judge’s full statement here once sentence has been passed.

At the High Court in Edinburgh on 19 March 2015, Lord Uist sentenced Brian McGregor to a punishment part of six years in prison and imposed an order for lifelong restriction after the accused was found guilty of charges of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life, and robbery.

At the High Court in Stirling on 17 March 2015, Lord Matthews sentenced Robert Buczek to life imprisonment with a punishment part of 20 years after the accused was found guilty of the murder of Eleanor Whitelaw.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday 13 March 2015, Sheriff J. Kenneth Mitchell imposed a Community Payback Order on Andrew Keith Wilson requiring him to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work and disqualified him from driving for a period of 19 months after the accused pled guilty to causing the death of Anton Dementyev by driving a motor lorry without due care and attention.
