In cases where there is public interest or where the sentence may be complicated or controversial, the judge may decide to make the sentencing statement more widely available. You can read the judge’s full statement here once sentence has been passed.

At the High Court in Edinburgh today, Lord Fairley sentenced Craig Bell to imprisonment for four years after the offender pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and diamorphine at a park.

At the High Court in Edinburgh today Lord Uist sentenced Hugh Steel to 6 years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving. The accused was also disqualified from driving for 10 years.
