President: Sheriff Daniel Kelly, QC (Hamilton Sheriff Court)

Sheriff Kelly is a Sheriff of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway at Hamilton.

He was appointed in 2011, having been a Temporary Sheriff between 1997 and 1999 and a Part-Time Sheriff between 2005 and 2011.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1981, working in Brussels from 1982 to 1983, was called to the Bar in 1991 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2007.

Since 1992 he has been Editor then Consultant Editor of the Sheriff Court Reports in the Scots Law Times.

He was elected President of the Association in 2019.
