Sheriff Derek O’Carroll

Honorary Secretary and Treasurer: Sheriff Derek O’Carroll, Sheriff of South Strathclyde Dumfries and Galloway at Airdrie.

Sheriff O’Carroll was appointed Sheriff in 2010, having served as a part-time Sheriff for three years to that point.

He had also served as a part-time Convenor and Chairman of various Scottish and UK tribunals for many years.

He was called to the Scottish Bar in 2000 and was solicitor for nine years before that.

He was an elected ordinary member of the Council of The Sheriffs’ Association from 2011 to 2014 and was elected Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of The Sheriff’s Association in 2015.
