Sheriff Colin Pettigrew

Sheriff Pettigrew was appointed Sheriff in 2002, having previously served as a Temporary Sheriff and Part-time Sheriff since 1999.

He was enrolled as a Solicitor in 1980 and until his appointment as a full-time Sheriff practised extensively throughout Scotland in the field of civil litigation and employment law.

Sheriff Pettigrew has considerable experience of The Sheriffs Association which he joined upon his appointment to the full time Bench.

He was elected and served as an Ordinary member of the Council of The Sheriffs’ Association from 2005 to 2008 and again from 2010 to 2013.

He was honoured by being elected Vice President of The Sheriffs’ Association in 2013 and following his further election he assumed the Office of President of The Sheriffs’ Association in March 2015.
