Vulnerable Witnesses (Criminal Evidence) (Scotland) Bill

The Lord Justice Clerk, Lady Dorrian, has welcomed the passage of the Vulnerable Witnesses (Criminal Evidence) (Scotland) Bill in the Scottish Parliament.

Lady Dorrian said: “During the past several years, we have taken significant steps to provide a better environment for the taking and testing of evidence given by a vulnerable witness. This Bill takes that progress to the next stage, with the potential to make a real and positive difference. Once the Act receives Royal Assent, I look forward to helping to ensure its implementation is a success for both vulnerable witnesses and the justice system into the future.”
