New Sheriff appointed in North Strathclyde

Solicitor Craig Douglas Turnbull has been appointed as a floating sheriff of North Strathclyde, the Scottish Ministers have announced.

Her Majesty the Queen appointed Mr Turnbull on the recommendation of the First Minister, who nominated Mr Turnbull on the basis of a report by the independent Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.

Mr Turnbull, a graduate of the University of Strathclyde, qualified as a solicitor in 1988.

He joined MacRoberts in 1993 and becoming a partner there in 1997, specialising in commercial and construction disputes and health and safety and environmental prosecutions.

He was appointed as a part-time sheriff in 2011.
